In this system, the main hoisting, auxiliary hoisting, and trolley mechanisms all adopt the conventional method of controlling by connecting resistors in series with the rotor. The gantry mechanism is equipped with two ATV71 – 18.5KW frequency converters from Schneider Electric, which can respectively control the speeds of the motors on both sides of the circular arc track. This effectively improves the problem of the gantry wheels gnawing on the rails.
The system is controlled by Schneider’s QUANTUM series PLC. The master – slave control of the frequency converters is achieved through the communication module. Moreover, it can send out the fault alarm of the whole machine in conjunction with the XBTG touch – screen of the monitoring system. Meanwhile, video monitoring is conducted on the working process of the underwater pin – inserting and withdrawing part.
