In this system, the auxiliary hoisting, gantry, and trolley mechanisms all adopt the conventional rotor – series resistance control method. The main hoisting mechanism selects two ACS800 frequency converters from ABB to control two hoisting motors respectively. By controlling the motor speed, the gate can be raised and lowered horizontally, effectively preventing the safety issue of gate tilting.
It uses Schneider’s QUANTUM series PLC for control. The master – slave control of the frequency converters is achieved through the optical fiber communication module. It also realizes the overall machine fault alarm with the XBTG touch – screen of the monitoring system. Meanwhile, video monitoring is carried out on the working process of the underwater pin – inserting and withdrawing part.
